Vaibhav rewriting record books at dizzying rate

Generational talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is not just rewriting the record books – he is obliterating them.

The 15-year-old prodigy has already smashed 99 sixes in his T20 career, the most by any player under the age of 20. He has achieved this in only 27 innings.

Remarkably, Sooryavanshi won’t celebrate his 20th birthday until 2031, giving him ample time to extend a record that already sets him apart from his peers.

His closest rivals in terms of number of T20 sixes before the age of 20 are Rahmanullah Gurbaz who hit 90 in 52 innings, and South African star Dewald Brevis who hit 73 in 42 innings.

Both Gurbaz and Brevis are now in their early 20s and Sooryavanshi is set to extend his own record in the coming years.

His extraordinary numbers at such a tender age only serve to underline his incredible talent and power-hitting ability.

However, the young Indian superstar still has some way to go to match the all-time greats.

The Universe Boss, Chris Gayle, holds the record for the most sixes in overall T20 cricket history, having smashed 1,056 sixes across his stellar career. He some distance ahead of the next best, fellow West Indians Kieron Pollard (908) and Andre Russell (723).

Gayle is also the benchmark in IPL history with 357 sixes.
