Pretorius on fire as Unicorns thrash Super Kings

Lhuan-dre Pretorius was the standout performer as South Africans impressed in the latest round of MLC action.

Texas Super Kings vs San Francisco Unicorns – Unicorns won by seven wickets

Pretorius struck another fine innings, hitting 69 off his trademark explosive style with eight fours and a six, as San Francisco eased to victory.

Texas captain Faf du Plessis fell cheaply for six, with Rilee Rossouw top-scoring for the losing side on 36. Hardus Viljoen made 33 and Donovan Ferreira 21, while Wiaan Mulder contributed 12. Nandre Burger took 1-13 and Viljoen finished with 1-33.

Washington Freedom vs MI New York – Freedom won by 30 runs

South African-born USA internationals Andries Gous and Obus Pienaar struggled, combining for just eight runs as Mitchell Owen’s astonishing 155 off 68 balls overshadowed everyone.

Marco Jansen was tidy with the ball but wicketless, finishing with 0-30. Corbin Bosch’s 35 off 14 for New York proved insufficient, with Quinton de Kock run out for just one.
