The 24-year-old South African all-rounder will provide Surrey with a valuable point of difference through his left-arm pace and powerful right-handed batting.
Van Vuuren strengthened his reputation during South Africa A’s tour of England in May. He produced a match-winning display against the England Lions at Beckenham, claiming 11 wickets for 105 runs in the first-class encounter.
He has also featured for MI Cape Town and the Pretoria Capitals in the SA20, while he currently represents the Knights in South African domestic cricket.

Van Vuuren began his senior career with Eastern Province and has since taken 83 wickets in 28 first-class matches. He has also shown his ability with the bat, scoring a career-best 120.
In List A cricket, Van Vuuren has collected 37 wickets, with best figures of 4-39.
Surrey director of men’s cricket Alec Stewart said the county had taken notice of Van Vuuren during his impressive performance against the England Lions.

“Tiaan is a talented all-rounder who is catching attention in South African cricket,” Stewart said. “We saw him in Beckenham earlier, and he can be a point of difference with his left-arm pace.”
Australian seamer Benji Floros has joined Van Vuuren as Surrey’s second overseas player for the competition.
The pair have been recruited amid several injuries in Surrey’s seam-bowling department, while 17 of the county’s players are set to feature in The Hundred.
