Heinrich Klaasen has won the toss and elected to bat first in the opening T2oI against Pakistan, with three players making their debuts for the Proteas in Johannesburg.
The first of four encounters gets under way at the Wanderers on Saturday where Wihan Lubbe, Sisanda Magala and Lizaad Williams get their first run in Proteas colours.
The South Africans are without Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen through injury, while five players are unavailable due to IPL duty.
Aiden Markram makes a return to the T20I side and will once again open the batting with Janneman Malan.
Pite van Biljon also features in the top order again, while George Linde, Beuran Hendricks and Tabraiz Shamsi complete the bowling attack with Andile Phehlukwayo the all-rounder in the team.
