• Markram mauls Cobras

Aiden Markram scored a masterful 169 to rescue the Titans from the depths of despair against the Cape Cobras and set up a vital One-Day Cup win at Newlands on Friday evening.

The Titans were struggling on 31-5 when Aiden Markram was joined by Farhaan Behardien. The pair added a monumental 272 runs for the sixth wicket to knock the stuffing out of the Cape Cobras.

Their stand was a world record for the sixth wicket in List A cricket.

Behardien ended undefeated on 111 off 100 balls with eight fours and four sixes (S/R 111.00) as the Titans ended on 320-6 off their 50 overs.

Rory Kleinveldt (3-60) did the early damage in the Titans innings, while Akhona Mnyaka (3-57) removed Markram in the final over of the Titans innings.

The Cobras reply lasted less than 41 overs as they were bowled out for 237, Janneman Malan (71), David Bedingham (50) and Rory Kleinveldt (41 off 28 balls, 3×4, 3×6, S/R 146.42) top-scoring.
