Super Giants captain Aiden Markram made a slow start, scoring just one off ten balls before being trapped leg-before by Adam Milne.
Heinrich Klaasen fared better down the order, contributing 17, while Leus du Plooy chipped in with six as part of a middle-order effort built around Tim Seifert’s 67 off 45 balls, the backbone of Super Giants’ 138-9.
Chasing 139, London Spirit found their best resistance from Dewald Brevis, who played second fiddle in a 68-run stand with Liam Livingstone, striking 22 off 23 balls before falling to Gus Atkinson.
Lhuan-dre Pretorius also chipped in with 16 as Spirit searched for a way over the line.
Livingstone’s own 69 kept Spirit in the contest deep into the chase, needing 12 off the final five balls, but Sonny Baker held his nerve to bowl Livingstone and finish the match, sealing a seven-run win for the Super Giants as Spirit finished on 131-6.
