The opening match will be a repeat of the Season 4 final, which saw the Sunrisers lift their third SA20 trophy.
According Betway SA20, the fifth season will feature four Saturday double-headers during a packed month of cricket at the six host venues.

The first double-header will take place on 23 January. Durban’s Super Giants will host Pretoria Capitals at Kingsmead before Joburg Super Kings face Sunrisers Eastern Cape at the Wanderers.
Further double-headers have been scheduled for 30 January, 6 February and 13 February.
“It’s fitting that they’re the two teams out in the middle when the season gets underway in Gqeberha,” SA20 commissioner Graeme Smith said of the opening fixture.

Boland Park will host an SA20 playoff match for the first time when Qualifier 1 is played in Paarl on 16 February.
The remaining two playoff matches will be staged at the Wanderers. The Eliminator will be played on 17 February, followed by Qualifier 2 on 19 February.
Newlands will then host the final for the second consecutive season on Sunday, 21 February. It will be the third time the Cape Town ground has staged the tournament decider.
