• Zimbabwe beat Hong Kong

Zimbabwe got their World T20 qualifier campaign off to a positive start by successfully defending their total of 158 against Hong Kong on Tuesday.

A maiden T20I fifty by Vusi Sibanda (59 of 46 balls) set the foundation before some powerful hitting by Elton Chigumbura (30 off 13, 3×6) lifted them to 158-8 in their 2o overs.

Opener Jamie Atkinson scored a 44-ball 53 for Hong Kong but the required run-rate needed for victory climbed to steeply as the innings progressed and in the end it was too high a mountain to climb as they only managed 144-6.
