Stubbs played with intent alongside Liam Dawson, who anchored the innings superbly with 52 and shared a crucial 66-run stand that dragged the hosts to a competitive 173 for six. Hilton Cartwright also chipped in late with quick runs to lift the total.

In reply, Sussex made a strong start through Harrison Ward’s 40, but Hampshire’s attack gradually took control. Dawson then flipped the match with the ball, ripping through the middle order with 3 for 20, while Chris Wood and James Fuller also struck twice each to derail the chase.
Stubbs’ contribution ensured another strong SA presence in a high-quality Blast contest.
