• Six South Africans included in PSL draft

Fast bowler Dale Steyn, batsman Hashim Amla, all-rounder JP Duminy and leg-spinner Imran Tahir are among six South Africans listed for next month’s Pakistan Super League draft.

The sextet also comprises former Proteas Colin Ingram and Rilee Rossouw, who are currently playing in the Abu Dhabi T10.

Duminy is available for the PSL despite being ruled out of the Paarl Rocks’ ongoing Mzansi Super League campaign due to a hamstring injury.

‘JP brings a lot of value in a lot of different areas. His experience will be missed, especially by the younger guys,’ said Rocks captain Faf du Plessis earlier this month.

Duminy previously represented Islamabad United in Pakistan’s premier T20 tournament.

Former Proteas captain AB de Villiers, meanwhile, has been released by the Lahore Qalandars due to reported ‘workload management’.

Amla will also be involved in the MSL after captaining the Karanatak Tuskers in the Abu Dhabi T10. He will join the Cape Town Blitz as a batting consultant.

Tahir recently played for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League and is with the MSL’s Nelson Mandela Bay Giants.

Steyn, who retired from Test cricket earlier this year but remains available for ODI and T20I selection, is with the Blitz.
