Saffas shine on a busy Blast Friday

Five Vitality Blast matches produced a some star performances for South African players, with Duan Jansen and George Linde stealing the headlines.

Surrey vs Hampshire  – Hampshire won by 5 runs

Tristan Stubbs contributed an unbeaten 30 off 18 balls as Hampshire posted 215-5 in a tense five-run victory. He shared a fourth-wicket stand with Joe Weatherley as the Hawks built towards a testing total.

Kyle Abbott went wicketless with the ball, conceding 29 from 3.1 overs, and was run out for 3 batting late in the innings.

Warwickshire vs Nottinghamshire – Notts won by 3 wickets

George Linde hit the winning boundary to seal a three-wicket win, finishing unbeaten on 29 off 25 balls in a low-scoring thriller.

Somerset vs Gloucestershire – Gloucestershire won by 7 wickets

Marchant de Lange and Duan Jansen each took two wickets to restrict Somerset to 137-8. Jansen’s powerplay wicket maiden reduced the hosts to 14-2, with Jordan Hermann among the early casualties, falling lbw to his fellow South African.
