• Saffa leads one-day batting stats

Wayne Madsen‘s fantastic start to the Royal London One-Day Cup puts him on top of the run-scoring pile, reports Gareth Stevens.

The 50-over competition has started to gather momentum and a few South Africans have shown that they are specialists in the shorter format. Apart from Madsen scoring runs at will, Colin Ingram has had a great start to his campaign, averaging well over 40.

Possibly the best all-round performer in the competition has been Tim Groenewald. He made a mid-season move to Somerset and seems to be thriving at Taunton. He finds himself in the top 50 of both batsmen and bowlers with some impressive numbers.

Not to forget the longer format, Dawid Malan has found his touch and climbed the ladder alarmingly. A string of big scores sees him in the top five run-scorers with an average north of 50.

Below are all the statistics of the Saffas playing First-class cricket in England, followed by a similar list that covers List A performances. The number next to the player’s name is their position on the leading run-scorers and wicket-takers list for their respective leagues. This gives an indication of how they have fared compared to everybody else. If there is no number then they are not currently in the top 50.
