The Proteas women won their first ODI against India, while the Springboks have named their squad to take on the Proteas.

Chloe Tryon starred for the Proteas women in their two-wicket win over India in Bangalore on Monday.

Tryon did her bit with the ball, taking 1-18 in six overs. Marizanne Kapp and Dane van Niekerk did the real damage, though, returning figures of 4-21 and 4-9, respectively. Their efforts saw India collapse to 114 all out within 39 overs.

Things seemed to be going pear-shaped in the chase, as skipper Mignon du Preez was one of only two players in the top five to reach double-figures. At 31-5, 114 looked a long way off when Tryon walked in at No 7.

Despite the situation, Tryon remained positive and got her side to the target in a hurry. She was eventually run out trying to level the scores for an 80-ball 50, but she had already done enough to secure a two-wicket win with 8.5 overs to spare.

    Springboks take on the Proteas

National captain Jean de Villiers and vice-captain Victor Matfield have both been included in a star-studded Springbok T20 cricket team who will face off against the Proteas at the Wanderers Stadium for the Nelson Mandela Legacy Cup on Friday 5 December 2014.

Springbok squad: Jean de Villiers, Victor Matfield, Damian de Allende, Tiaan Liebenberg, Cornal Hendricks, Willie le Roux, Francois Hougaard, Bismarck du Plessis, Duane Vermeulen, Butch James, Willem Alberts, Handré Pollard, Jan Serfontein. Manager: Flip van der Merwe.
