Wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock, all-rounder Wayne Parnell and spinner Aaron Phangiso have been drafted into South Africa A’s squad for Saturday’s limited-overs fixture against the England Lions in Potchefstroom.
De Kock, Parnell and Phangiso played in the fifth and final ODI against the West Indies in Centurion earlier this week, when the hosts secured a convincing four-one series win.
‘This opportunity will give these players some valuable game time after some time on the sidelines over the last few months,’ said Proteas coach Russell Domingo.
‘Quinton and Aaron are coming back from injury, while Wayne only played two matches against the West Indies. I think they can only benefit from one last run of competitive cricket before we head to the World Cup on Wednesday.’
The Lions sport a two-nil lead in the five-match affair.
