• 30 World Cup matches on SABC

The South African Broadcasting Corporation will provide live coverage for 30 of the 49 matches played at the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand through February and March.

SABC3 will broadcast all six of South Africa’s group matches, against India, Pakistan, West Indies, United Arab Emirates, Zimbabwe and Ireland – and two quarter-finals, one semi-final and the final.

Pool matches involving the Proteas will happen on 15, 22 and 27 February – and 3, 7 and 12 March.

South African umpire Marais Erasmus, meanwhile, has been appointed as an on-field official for the tournament opener between New Zealand and Sri Lanka in Christchurch on 14 February. He will be accompanied by England’s Nigel Llong.
