• Proteas’ warm-up washed out

South Africa’s second T20 World Cup warm-up match against Bangladesh in Brisbane was abandoned due to rain without a ball being bowled.

The Proteas will therefore go into their opening fixture against a qualifying team in Hobart next Monday having had just one hit-out in Australia, against New Zealand.

Openers Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock were both rested for that fixture, which the Proteas won by nine wickets.

The Proteas will also take on Bangladesh (27 October, Sydney), India (30 October, Perth), Pakistan (3 November, Sydney) and another qualifying team (6 November, Adelaide) in the Super 12 stage of the tournament.

The top-two teams in each group will progress to the semi-finals.
