Seamer Lungi Ngidi has been drafted into the Proteas’ Test squad ahead of the second Test against India in Guwahati from Saturday.
The move comes with Kagiso Rabada still battling the rib injury he sustained at training before the series opener.

Rabada missed the first Test – which the Proteas won by 30 runs at Eden Gardens – and Ngidi’s call-up is a clear sign the attack may again be without its spearhead.
If Rabada is ruled out, the Proteas will lean on Marco Jansen, Wiaan Mulder and Corbin Bosch as their frontline seam options.
