• What CSA wants in convenor of selection

    Cricket South Africa has advertised for a successor to former convenor of selection Linda Zondi, who might reapply for the post. Here are the essential requirements for the job, as listed on CSA’s careers page.

    Essential requirements

    • A relevant diploma or bachelors’ degree in sports management or a similar qualification
    • A minimum of five years’ proven experience as a selector;
    • Proven experience in talent identification and scouting of cricketers
    • Understand the transformation objectives of CSA
    • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
    • Excellent report-writing skills

    • Good attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
    • Conflict management and resolution skills
    • Sound analysis and judgement
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Ability to plan, organise and work effectively on own and as part of a team
