• Plays of the day

Kobus Pretorius reflects on the players and moments that shaped their World T20 clash with Sri Lanka in Delhi on Monday.

    BATSMAN OF THE DAY
Hashim Amla for his unbeaten 56 off 52 balls which was the foundation South Africa used to get to their target of 121.

    SHOT OF THE DAY
Lets go with the shot AB de Villiers played to hit a six and win the game. It was the best part of a dead rubber which moved along at a snails pace.

    BOWLER OF THE DAY
Aaron Phangiso (2-26), Imran Tahir (1-18) and Farhaan Behardien (2-15) all bowled extremely well, but Kyle Abbott was exceptional for his 2-14 in 3.3 overs.

    DELIVERY OF THE DAY
Phangiso’s delivery which bowled Dinesh Chandimal. He bowled it flat and it sneaked through the gap between bat and pad as Chandimal went for an expansive cover drive without moving his front foot across.

    CATCH OF THE DAY
There was nothing special, so it goes to Behardien for his catch off Dale Steyn at cover to get rid of Thisara Perera.

    WHAT A BORE
In chasing 121, South Africa never really went for it and tried to entertain, but it was boring to watch, especially when Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis were batting together.
