• Nortje dominates as Proteas take early control

Anrich Nortje was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed figures of 3-8 in the opening session of the first Test between the Proteas and West Indies, with the hosts heading into lunch in deep trouble on 48-4.

Nortje, recently named SA Cricketer of the Year, was in fine form once again as he led from the front for the Proteas, claiming the first two wickets through superb deliveries, while Kagiso Rabada had Nkrumah Bonner caught behind in the 25th over.

Just before the interval, Nortje had an lbw decision go his way, only to be overturned by DRS. But, just a couple of deliveries later he had his man as Kyle Mayers spooned the ball to Rassie van der Dussen at mid-wicket.
