Ravi Shastri has been named the interim coach for India’s upcoming tour to Bangladesh, while Sanjay Bangar, Bharat Arun and R Sridhar will continue as assistant coaches in the interim, reports ESPNCricinfo.

The restructured coaching staff is likely to be finalised in consultation with the cricket advisory committee before the India’s tour to Zimbabwe, in July.

Shastri had been named director of cricket after India’s poor performance in the Test series in England last year and the BCCI had appointed Bangar, Arun and Sridhar as assistant coaches at the same time.

    ROGERS OUT OF FIRST TEST

Chris Rogers has been ruled out of Australia’s first Test against the West Indies on Wednesday after being concussed by a short ball delivered by a net bowler at training.

The 37-year-old opener was told the news by team doctor Peter Brukner in a meeting with captain Michael Clarke and coach Darren Lehmann on the Windsor Park ground on Monday morning.

He had been hit in the helmet at training the afternoon before by a local net bowler. He continued batting then but was unwell overnight. – smh.com.au
