Du Plessis struck a fluent 61 for the Texas Super Kings, but Washington Freedom snatched a dramatic three-wicket victory to end Texas’ playoff hopes. Breetzke then made 55 for the Seattle Orcas, but the San Francisco Unicorns chased down 191 to seal top spot and a semi-final berth, with Seattle eliminated.

The remaining South Africans had quieter outings. Donovan Ferreira was unable to build on Du Plessis’ platform for Texas, while Dian Forrester did not make an impact with the bat, he chipped in with 2 wickets. Marco Jansen featured for Washington without making a major mark as the two fixtures belonged to Du Plessis and Breetzke from a South African perspective.
