The Lions will face the Dolphins in Thursday’s Momentum One-Day Cup final after Tuesday’s second semi-final between the men from Johannesburg and the Knights was abandoned due to rain.
The Lions topped Pool B during the group stages and therefore earned their ticket to the final by ending higher on the table than the Knights.
On Monday, the Dolphins narrowly got past the Cobras by three wickets, putting them one win away from defending their title.
The Lions, though, finished as runners-up last season and will be eager to shock the men from Durban when the final gets under way in Potchefstroom.
Slight showers are forecasted for Thursday, but a reserve day has been scheduled should rain intervene once again.
