• KP: Faul CEO and Kallis consultant

Former England captain Kevin Pietersen has suggested the Titans’ Jacques Faul succeed Cricket South Africa chief executive officer Thabang Moroe.

Moroe was placed on precautionary suspension this week due to allegations of misconduct.

Faul has been CEO of the Titans franchise since 2013. He was CSA’s acting CEO in 2012.

Pietersen, too, wants the former Proteas captain to be named CSA’s director of cricket. The post is still vacant a mere three weeks before the start of a four-Test series between the Proteas and England. Smith interviewed for the position and later withdrew interest, but has since revealed discussions are ongoing with CSA.

Among the South African-born Pietersen’s suggestions are the appointment of former Proteas cricketers Makhaya Ntini and Robin Peterson as fast-bowling and spin coach, respectively.

He would also like former Proteas wicketkeeper-batsman Mark Boucher, who is the head coach of the Titans in South African domestic cricket and the Tshwane Spartans in the Mzansi Super League, to be the Proteas’ team director.

The team director post was created at the end of former head coach Ottis Gibson’s tenure earlier this year. The Lions’ Enoch Nkwe held this position in an interim capacity for the recent tour of India. A full-time appointment, however, has not been made yet.
