• Duminy signs for Kings in BPL

Former Proteas batsman JP Duminy will play for the Rajshahi Kings in the Bangladesh Premier League later this year.

Duminy retired from all forms of international cricket after the World Cup earlier this month. This week he was recruited by the Belfast Titans for the inaugural Euro T20 Slam in the Netherlands, Scotland and Ireland.

‘The Rajshahi Kings are proud to announce that South African all-rounder Duminy is a King now,’ the franchise announced on social media.

‘Duminy, an elegant left-handed batsman, a useful spinner and a sharp fielder, has served South Africa for more than 14 years. He has a vast experience in franchise cricket and already led Pakistan Super League team Islamabad United to their second title in 2018.’

The 35-year-old Duminy’s career has also featured stints with the Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.

Proteas batsman David Miller, meanwhile, has joined the Dhaka Dynamites and will be a teammate of England captain Eoin Morgan. Leg-spinner Imran Tahir will be with the Khulna Titans alongside former Australian captain Shane Watson.

The seventh edition of the BPL will start on 6 December. The Comilla Victorians are the defending champions.
