Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) players and officials have been recognised with multiple nominations ahead of the Annual CSA Pathway and Professional Awards 2025/26, set to take place at the Sandton Convention Centre on 16 July.
The gala event, which will be broadcast live on SuperSport, celebrates the standout performers from the cricket season spanning 1 May 2025 to 30 April 2026.
Western Province enjoys strong representation across both the men’s and women’s nomination lists, with several players recognised in multiple categories.
T20 World Cup: Race for the semi-finals hots up
Head coach Claire Terblanche earned a nomination for Hollywoodbets Pro Series Coach of the Year after guiding Western Province Women to a double triumph, winning the Hollywoodbets Pro50 competition while successfully defending their Hollywoodbets Pro20 title.
Fast bowler Nandre Burger features among the men’s nominees, recognised for Men’s One-Day International Player of the Year and the Best Men’s Delivery Fuelled by KFC for his dismissal of Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman in last November’s third ODI. Josh Breed also picked up a nomination for Men’s Domestic Newcomer of the Year.
On the women’s side, Kayla Reyneke picked up three nominations, including International Women’s Newcomer of the Year, Women’s T20 International Player of the Year and SA Fans’ Player of the Year, following a breakthrough season that included her Proteas debut. She is currently part of the South Africa squad at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England.
Marizanne Kapp also received multiple nominations, including Women’s One-Day International Player of the Year, SA Women’s Player of the Year and the Best Women’s Delivery Fuelled by KFC for her dismissal of England’s Amy Jones, while Nadine de Klerk was also nominated for Women’s One-Day International Player of the Year and SA Women’s Player of the Year.

Nosipho Vezi was among the most nominated players on the list, recognised for both Hollywoodbets Pro20 Player of the Season and Hollywoodbets Pro50 Player of the Season, while Faye Tunnicliffe and Miya Lalor rounded out the WPCA contingent with nominations for Hollywoodbets Pro20 Player of the Season and Hollywoodbets Pro Series Newcomer of the Season respectively.
WPCA chief executive Corrie van Zyl praised the nominees, saying representing one’s province and country remained one of the proudest achievements in the sport, adding that the players were already winners in the association’s eyes regardless of the outcome on the night.
