Quinton de Kock was the standout performer as MI New York edged past Seattle Orcas by five runs on Friday.
De Kock smashed 61 runs, with six fours and two sixes, accounting for almost half of New York’s total, with little help from the rest of his lineup as they posted 132-8.

Corbin Bosch was removed for just two runs, with fellow South African Matthew Breetzke catching his team mate off Cameron Gannon. Ottneil Baartman, Marcus Stoinis and Jasdeep Singh led the Orcas attack, with Baartman ending on figures of 2-36.
The Orcas were under immediate pressure from New York’s bowlers. Tim Seifert, Shayan Jahangir and Breetzke were all gone cheaply, thanks to early wickets from Bosch, Boult and Shepherd.

Stoinis put up a fight, scoring a well-made 36, but Seattle did not have enough in the tank to complete the chase, ending on 127-9 after their 20 overs as New York held on for the win.
