After the first win of the campaign was recorded on Wednesday in the Jukskei derby, the other two clashes in round five ended in a draw.
After a rain-affected opening two days, the Knights and the Warriors only managed an innings apiece, with the Knights starting on 168-1 on the final day. Bonus points were all there was to play for, as the Knights aimed to gather as many runs before the 100-over mark. Having already passed the 150-run mark for their first bonus point, the Knights would now receive 0,02 points for every run they scored within 100 overs.
Grant Mokoena (108) and Keegan Petersen (103) continued to add to their total, Mokoena reaching his first ton of the campaign before being run out with his side on 204. Peterson followed suit, reaching his second century of the campaign, taking the Knights to 315 despite losing his captain, Theunis de Bruyn, for 25.
From thereon in Rudi Second added 40, Werner Coetsee (23) and Ryan McLaren (36) as they reached 391-5 by the end of the 100 overs. This meant 4.82 batting bonus points for the Bloemfontein side as the match was called a draw.
The Knights racked up a total of 15.82 points in the match, while the Warriors managed to gather 12.82 as they occupy second and third spot on the Sunfoil Series standings respectively, behind the Titans (79.68) in first place.
The Cobras earned 14.56 points to take them to 64.14 in fourth, while the Dolphins racked up 13.54 which sees them second from bottom heading into the break.
Morne van Wyk (106), Vaughn van Jaarsveld (100) and Dane Vilas (64) took the Dolphins to 360-4 before the match was called a draw.
