Ackermann seals win, Linde stars again in Vitality Blast

Durham's Colin Ackermann and Nottinghamshire's George Linde were among the standout South African performers across the latest round of Vitality Blast action.

Sussex vs Middlesex – Sussex won by 18 runs

Middlesex captain Leus du Plooy struck 37 off 28 balls but could not prevent an 18-run defeat to Sussex. Daniel Hughes blazed 108 off just 52 balls, with 11 fours and six sixes, as the hosts posted a formidable 213-3.

Max Holden (52) and Matthew Boyle (34) supported du Plooy’s resistance, but Middlesex fell short on 195-9.

Worcestershire vs Gloucestershire – Gloucestershire won by two wickets

Gareth Roderick hit 44 off 36 balls in Worcestershire’s two-wicket loss. Marchant de Lange finished with 0-50 and two runs off two balls, while Graeme van Buuren, wicketless from his overs, struck an unbeaten 16 to help see Gloucestershire home.

Durham vs Derbyshire – Durham won by five runs

Colin Ackermann’s unbeaten 69, including seven fours and a six, proved the difference as Durham edged out Derbyshire. Matthew Montgomery took 1-25 before adding 18 with the bat, while Wayne Madsen made 26 before being caught off Nathan Sowter. Ackermann also bowled a tidy over, going for 14.

Northamptonshire vs Somerset – Somerset won by seven wickets

Ricardo Vasconcelos contributed 23 as Northamptonshire posted 162-8, with Lewis McManus top-scoring on 76. Somerset completed the chase with five overs in hand, driven by Will Smeed (46), Thomas Rew (46) and Tom Kohler-Cadmore (38).

Leicestershire vs Nottinghamshire – Nottinghamshire won by six wickets

George Linde continued his fine form, taking 3-31 before an unbeaten 18 alongside Tom Moores (51 not out) sealed a six-wicket win for Notts on 149-4.

Hampshire vs Essex – Essex won by seven wickets

Simon Harmer conceded just one run in his over as Essex cruised to victory over Tristan Stubbs’ Hampshire. Stubbs was dismissed for two by Shane Snater before going wicketless himself, conceding 18 in his solitary over.
