Supersport to broadcast Women’s World Cup

Supersport have announced plans to broadcast the Women’s World Cup in England, with all the Proteas Women’s games given live coverage.

In all, Supersport will cover 16 matches of the tournament, beginning with the first match where England will come up against India on 24 June, and culminating with the final on 23 July.

‘We’ve kept a close eye on the qualifiers, and the Proteas women did a marvelous job of earning their place at the World Cup,’ said Gideon Khobane, SuperSport’s chief executive.

Khobane feels that the tournament will appeal to many Supersport viewers, given that the matches take place during the day.

‘The daytime scheduling makes it ideal for our viewers to watch, plus it will all be streamed for those at the office or on the move,’ he said.

The Proteas get their campaign under way against Pakistan on 25 June.
