Kings XI Punjab batsman David Miller is one of the biggest hitters in the IPL, but against Kolkata Knight Riders on 9 May at Eden Gardens, Kolkata police constable Alok Aich felt the full force of it. One of Miller’s maximums hit him in the eye, and he has lost his sight.
Miller, affectionately known as ‘Killer Miller’ to his fans in India, confirmed Aich’s fate on Twitter.
I am still in a state of shock and deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Mr Aich’s eye. A freak accident! My prayers are with u.
