• Titans ease into season in Seychelles

Success brings its own rewards: after winning the Ram Slam T20 and the Sunfoil Series last season, the Titans will begin their preparation for the new campaign with a four-day trip to Seychelles.

Between a coaching clinic for schoolchildren, some training and a T20 match against the local Gran Kaz Kings, there will be a trail hike into the rainforest through the Morne Seychellois National Park, a catamaran cruise and a luxury Creole dinner, courtesy of Gran Kaz Entertainment and the Seychelles Cricket Association.

The Sky Blues will depart for the Indian Ocean island on 23 August and will spend four days in Mahé, home to the country’s capital Victoria, before returning home on 28 August. The team will be based at the Avani Seychelles Barbarons Resort and Spa for the duration of their stay.

The trip will provide the men from Centurion the perfect opportunity to put the finishing touches on their pre-season training ahead of the inaugural Abu Dhabi T20 Tournament in October.

The Titans Cricket chief executive officer Jacques Faul said: ‘We are absolutely thrilled to be travelling to Seychelles, and it is something the team are very much looking forward to.

‘Seychelles is an emerging cricket nation, and to be able to be part of their development, even for a few days, is something that the franchise takes great pride in.’

The chairman of SCA, Jonathan Paul, said: ‘We are extremely excited and appreciative that the Multiply Titans have chosen to kick off their season with a visit to our islands. The team will be coming to one of the most beautiful and hospitable islands in the world.’
