England all-rounder Ben Stokes is expected to be sidelined for up to three months with a broken finger, which will require him to undergo surgery.
Stokes was ruled out for the remainder of the IPL after sustaining the injury during the Rajasthan Royals’ opening match of the IPL earlier this week. The star-player fractured his finger while fielding in the clash against the Punjab Kings.
It was confirmed by the Royals that Stokes will not feature again in this year’s campaign but his absence will stretch further into England’s international summer season.
Stokes will be unavailable for selection when New Zealand tour to England for a home series in June as well as limited overs series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
