• South Africa chase 128

South Africa have restricted Scotland to 127 all out in their third and final group match of the U19 World Cup.

Captain Tony de Zorzi won the toss and decided to field first as Wiaan Mulder, Luke Philander and Farhaan Sayanvala came back into the side to replace Dean Foxcroft, Lutho Sipamla and Rivaldo Moonsamy.

South Africa had Scotland in early trouble on 33-4 as the bowling attack combined well to put Scotland under pressure. They stumbled to 127 all out in 45.4 overs with only Finlay McCreath (24) and Harris Carnegie (29) managing to score more than 20 runs.

Dayyaan Galiem (2-16) and Sean Whitehead (2-16) were the pick of the bowlers while Wiaan Mulder (2-16) and De Zorzi himself (2-20) also got in on the act.

This is South Africa’s last match before they commence the Plate Championship portion of the tournament after defeats to Bangladesh and Namibia knocked them out of the main event.
