The Proteas Women suffered a 15-run defeat by England A in their T20 warm-up match at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Monday.

England A posted 155-5 thanks to a 79-run partnership between Maia Bouchier (49) and Bess Heath (43).

Tumi Sekhukhune, captain Sune Luus and Nadine de Klerk each took a wicket for South Africa.

In reply, Lizelle Lee (eight), Anneke Bosch (one) and Lara Goodall (eight) all went cheaply to leave the visitors struggling on 32-3 in the seventh over.

Laura Wolvaardt (34) and Luus (45) added 47 runs for the fourth wicket before Linsey Smith dismissed Wolvaardt.

Despite finding another able partner in Chloe Tryon (21*), Luus was eventually sent back to the dressing room and the Proteas finished on 140-6.
