• Prince leads Saffa charge

    Ashwell Prince has shown that class is permanent by scoring over 1 000 runs in his last season of County cricket, reports Gareth Stevens.

    Silverware has been handed out to the T20 champions as the English summer draws to a close. Prince was a losing finalist in that competition, but he has refocused on the four-day game and is the leading South African performer.

    Experience has played a significant role in the County Championship as old dogs Alfonso Thomas and Andrew Hall have also had stellar campaigns. Thomas has nearly hit the 50 wicket mark and Hall has delivered a commendable all-round performance in a struggling Northamptonshire side.
