• Njoloza five-for sets up WP win

    Mpilo Njoloza picked up a career-best 5-26 against KwaZulu-Natal in Durban to help Western Province seal a five-wicket victory and earn himself today’s Turbo Bowler award, writes ANITHA MADIKIZELA.

    The veteran strike bowler was at his blistering best, picking up 5-26 off his 10 overs against a disappointing KwaZulu-Natal batting order as he helped to roll the home side out for 185 inside of 45 overs.

    The left-arm paceman began his onslaught in the fifth over of the match with the wicket of KZN opener Blayde Capell, who was soon followed back into the pavilion by Andile Mokgakane as the home team crumbled to 33-4 within the powerplay.

    Njoloza then returned to the attack in the middle overs to bag the wickets of Zakariya Paruk, Daryn Dupavillon and Yves Kamanzi to record his career-best bowling figures of 5-26, trumping his previous best of 4-26 against SWD in Oudtshoorn.
