• McLaren out for three weeks

Ryan McLaren has been ruled out of the remainder of the One-Day Triangular series in Zimbabwe after suffering a hairline fracture to a bone in his right forearm during Tuesday’s match against Australia.

McLaren was hit while batting during the Proteas’ chase, but continued to bat through the pain until his dismissal.

Proteas team manager, Dr Mohammed Moosajee, said: ‘Ryan was taken for X-rays after complaining of severe pain following a blow to his right forearm. The scans revealed a hairline fracture to the bone in the right forearm, which rules him out of action for the next three weeks.’

McLaren was to return to South Africa on Thursday morning.
