• KG, Miller botch run-out

Kane Williamson survived a close shave as Kagiso Rabada and David Miller combined with a calamitous error to miss a vital run-out.

The 40th over of the low-scoring tussle between the Proteas and Black Caps at Edgbaston saw Williamson and Colin de Grandhomme in a terrible mix-up. The latter wanted to steal a leg bye but Williamson was not keen. In the end, he was forced to run through with Rabada fielding off his own bowling.

The fiery paceman was caught in two minds with his effort on the stumps half way between going for a direct hit and half setting it up for David Miller at the stumps to do the necessary.

In the end, Miller failed to gather the ball as another glorious chance went wasted.

The New Zealand captain survived to help tick off the remaining 58 runs required from 53 balls.
