• De Lange named in Knights’ ODC squad

The Central Franchise selectors have announced that Marchant de Lange will be included in the Knights squad for their 2018-19 One-Day Cup campaign.

De Lange played for the Knights in past seasons and was very effective in their prior One-Day Cup campaigns. He has played 79 List A matches and claimed 139 wickets at an economy rate of 5.46 with best figures of 5-49. The fast bowler has been called up to the Knights at a time when the team needs his expertise the most.

‘We are happy to have Marchant involved in our 50-over campaign because our bowling attack has been struggling, especially with Duanne Olivier away on national duty,’ commented Knights chief executive Johan van Heerden.

‘With the amount of rain that has been happening around South Africa, the wicket will be more pace friendly and that is why we believe he will be of great value to the team,’ he added.

De Lange will be available for selection from 19 February 2019 when the Knights take on the Cape Cobras at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein for their first home game of the One-Day Cup.
