• Cobras and Knights share points

The wet weather in the Cape caused the match between the Cape Cobras and Knights to be abandoned on Wednesday.

The washout meant that each team received two competition points, which keeps them both in playoff contention. The Knights climbed to second, while the Cape Cobras moved up to the last semi-final position in third. Justin Ontong’s side are in good shape, though, as they have a game in hand on both teams above them on the log and a win in that game will take them to the summit.

As far as action went in Paarl, there was time for a toss and for the captains to name their teams. That was just about it as the dark clouds and accompanying rain never subsided.

The two sides will be in action again on Friday. The Cape Cobras travel to Johannesburg to take on the table-topping Lions in a battle for top spot. The Knights will be at home in Bloemfontein, where they welcome the struggling Titans.
