• Bavuma sends reminder to CSA selectors

Temba Bavuma has made a strong case to be included in the Proteas Test team again after making a valuable century for the Lions in their 130-run defeat to the Dolphins on Thursday in Pietermaritzburg

With the Lions staring down defeat on the final day of their 4-Day Franchise Series encounter, Bavuma offered strong resistance by hitting a first-class best 180, which will definitely come to the attention of Proteas coach Mark Boucher and his selectors.

With Nono Pongolo at the other end, the pair frustrated the Dolphins bowling attack with a 99-run partnership.

Bavuma had to dig deep to keep his side in the game and did just that by bringing up his century before  he took his tally past the 150-run mark in the afternoon.

He was eventually dismissed by spinner Senuran Muthusamy.

Despite being part of the original Test squad for the series against England, the middle-order batsman has missed out on a spot in the team for the second and third Tests.
