The 15-year-old was handed the No.3 shirt, who called it “the moment the nation has been waiting for.” Sooryavanshi reflected on the emotional significance of the milestone.

“Ever since I first held a bat and walked onto a cricket field to practise, I dreamed of this moment. I cannot explain this feeling in words,” he said.
Sooryavanshi earned his maiden call-up for India’s T20 squad for the tours of Ireland and England, as well as the Asian Games, after a record-breaking IPL campaign in which he scored 776 runs, including a century and five half-centuries, to claim the Orange Cap.
He is poised to surpass Sachin Tendulkar, who debuted for India in Test cricket at 16 years and 205 days in 1989, as the nation’s youngest international player.
