Watch: Faf breaks record in MLC opener

Texas Super Kings captain Faf du Plessis became the oldest T20 centurion during the opening match of 2026 Major League Cricket.

At 41 years and 340 days, Du Plessis broke Paul Collingwood’s record (41 years and 65 days) set in 2017.

Du Plessis hit 113* off 52 balls – including seven sixes and nine fours – in Dallas on Thursday as the hosts chased down the Seattle Orcas’ 220-2 with six wickets in hand and nine balls remaining.

He received good support from another former Proteas batsman, Rilee Rossouw, who scored 49 off 21 balls (seven fours, two sixes).

Proteas pace bowler Ottneil Baartman took 1-40 in his three overs for Seattle.
