Colin Ingram – (Glamorgan)
Ingram is Glamorgan’s all-time leading T20 run-scorer and arguably the most impactful South African batter the competition has seen. His 2016 campaign produced 502 runs including 29 sixes, equalling Chris Gayle’s then-record for a single season.
He followed that with two centuries in 2017 as Glamorgan reached Finals Day for the first time in over a decade. Ingram is still active in the 2026 campaign at 40.
Wayne Madsen – (Derbyshire)
Madsen is Derbyshire’s all-time leading T20 run-scorer with more than 4,800 runs in 177 matches. His 2017 Blast campaign produced a county record 526 runs at an average of 48, including a career-high 86* off 44 balls against Nottinghamshire.
He backed that up with 527 runs in 2022, the same season he scored his maiden T20 century, 100 not out off 47 balls against Durham. Now in his 17th season with the county.
Simon Harmer – (Essex)
Harmer captained Essex to their first T20 title in 2019, producing figures of 4-19 against Derbyshire in the semi-final and 3-16 against Worcestershire in the final, before hitting the winning runs.
He remains the most prolific South African bowler in the competition’s history and continues to lead Essex in the 2026 campaign.
Kyle Abbott – (Hampshire)
Abbott took 17 wickets in his first Blast season, helping Hampshire to Finals Day, then topped their wicket-taker list the following year with 20 scalps at an average of 17.80.
Now in his tenth season at Hampshire, his 2-16 against Middlesex showed his threat has not diminished at 38.
Stephen Eskinazi – (Middlesex, Leicestershire)
A consistent performer for Middlesex across eight seasons in the competition, Eskinazi’s 94 off 48 balls against Hampshire in 2025 was among the finest Blast innings by a South African that season.
David Bedingham – (Durham)
Bedingham’s 78 off 42 balls against Lancashire in 2024 highlighted his standing as one of Durham’s most explosive Blast batters since joining the county six seasons ago.
Leus du Plooy (Derbyshire, Middlesex)
Du Plooy helped Derbyshire reach Finals Day in his debut Blast season in 2019 and captained the county in the format before moving to Middlesex, where he now leads the T20 side.
Dean Elgar (Essex)
Elgar scored 331 runs in 13 Blast appearances in his debut season with Essex in 2024, including 54 off 39 balls against Sussex, demonstrating that the former Proteas Test captain has adapted effectively to the format.
