Surrey vs Middlesex – Surrey won by 8 wickets
Middlesex were dismantled by Surrey, who won by eight wickets with more than five overs to spare. Leus du Plooy managed only 8 off 10 balls, while Eathan Bosch contributed 4 off 7 with the bat and went wicketless with the ball, conceding 34 from three overs at an economy of 11.33.
Luke Hollman’s unbeaten 31 was the only resistance of note for Middlesex, though Surrey’s Ollie Pope won the match almost single-handedly in the chase, making 51 not out off 33 balls. Sean Abbott took 2-16 from four overs in a tight Surrey bowling display.
Somerset vs Glamorgan – Glamorgan won by 4 wickets
Jordan Hermann, the Pretoria-born 24-year-old who earned his first Proteas cap against New Zealand in March, batted at three for Somerset and struck 12 off 10 balls, including a six, before being run out.
His dismissal left Somerset at 76-3, from where Lewis Gregory’s brutal 54 off 28 salvaged a total of 202-6. Glamorgan’s Sean Dickson, the ex-Somerset man, hit 63 off 36 to anchor the chase in a dramatic last-ball win.
