India A bowlers dominate Day 1

South Africa A finished the first day of the second four-day match against India A in Bloemfontein on 233-7.

No 7 batsman George Linde top-scored for the hosts with 44 off 63 balls and was well supported by Sinethemba Qeshile (32) and Marco Jansen (38*).

Linde, though, was unhappy with the way he got out.

South Africa A suffered an early setback when captain Pieter Malan – who made 163 in the first match – was trapped lbw for a golden duck.

Sarel Erwee (38), Raynard van Tonder (34) and Zubayr Hamza (31) got the innings back on track although all three will be disappointed that they didn’t go on to make 50 and more.

Navdeep Saini (2-54) and Ishan Porel (2-26) were India A’s most successful bowlers.

The first match between the teams was dominated by the bat and ended in a draw after the final day was rained out.
