• Brevis bought for SA20 record price

Dewald Brevis was the big beneficiary of a bidding war between the Paarl Royals, Joburg Super Kings and Pretoria Capitals at the SA20 auction.

The Proteas batsman, who previously played for MI Cape Town, was bought for R16.5-million by the Capitals.

Proteas T20I captain Aiden Markram had earlier been sold to Durban’s Super Giants for R14-million, having not been retained by the Sunrisers Eastern Cape. DSG also purchased Proteas speedster Gerald Coetzee for R7.4-million.

Proteas all-rounder Wiaan Mulder was bought for R9-million by the Joburg Super Kings, who also kept fast bowler Nandre Burger for R6.3-million.
