• Tuks sneak into campus semi

Tuks lost their last Red Bull Campus Cricket group match against ULAB in a nail-biting clash on Wednesday.

The SA side could not follow their perfect start to the tournament, as they hoped to climb into the semi-final with a clean sweep. Tuks could not match their good form with the bat as a fine bowling display from Anjum Ahmed (3-27) and Arifur Rahman (3-30) helped reduce the SA side to 152-9 in 20 overs. ULAB who had a contrasting start to their opponents with one loss and one victory managed to give themselves a fighting chance to claim a semi-final spot, overtaking Loughborough University by Net Run Rate in Pool A.

Vincent Moore and Thomas Kaber tried to halt their opponents’ chances, but the duo’s brace was not enough to stop ULAB from reaching the 153-run target.

Lungi Ngidi (2-16) came to his side’s aid at precisely the right time with a fine display of death-bowling, claiming a quick brace which included the wicket of danger man Avishek Mitra (50) shortly after making his half-century as the match came to a nail-biting finish with ULAB on 151-9 needing two runs off the final ball. Morsalin Mortaza was the hero scoring the much-needed double to see his side over the line and into the semi finals as his side clinched a one-wicket victory.

Lungi Ngidi (7-60 overall) will go into the semi-finals with the second best bowling figures of the tournament as his teammate Rubin Hermann ends the pool stages on 146 runs as the second-highest run scorer.
