• Top 10 most valuable T20 leagues in 2025

The IPL is a financial colossus that operates on an entirely different stratosphere from every other T20 franchise competition.

In 2025, the IPL’s total brand and enterprise value is estimated at $10.9 billion – more than the combined worth of the next nine most valuable T20 leagues.

That staggering figure is driven by a five-year media rights deal worth approximately $6.4 billion (2023-27), explosive sponsorship income, skyrocketing franchise values (the 10 teams alone are collectively valued at around $18.5-billion in some analyses), and a global audience that no other cricket property can match.

Behind the IPL, a clear second tier has emerged, largely fuelled by leagues either owned or heavily backed by IPL franchise owners.

The International League T20 (ILT20) in the UAE and South Africa’s SA20 have quickly climbed the rankings thanks to tax-free salaries, modern infrastructure and aggressive investment from the same Indian business houses that dominate the IPL.

More established leagues such as Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) and England’s Hundred continue to hold strong positions, while newer entrants like Major League Cricket (MLC) in the United States are growing rapidly by tapping into the South Asian diaspora and offering lucrative contracts.
